Visual Diary: Keukenhof, Netherlands

Hallo!

“Never cut a tree down in the wintertime. Never make a negative decision in the low time. Never make your most important decisions when you are in your worst moods. Wait. Be patient. The storm will pass. The spring will come”- Robert H. Schuller

A little throwback to 2015 spring and welcoming the spring in 2016! During my road trip to Amsterdam from Copenhagen, I was lucky enough to visit Keukenhof. After eyeing this place for many years on Pinterest, I never thought I would ever step foot in the Netherlands until I came to Amsterdam. Keukenhof is a garden also known as the “Garden of Europe” it showcases tulips and many assorted flowers and plants. Keukenhof immediately became one my favourite places in the Netherlands where I can get lost among the colourful and bright flowers. It is a little paradise for tulip lovers and a peaceful getaway from the hustle of Amsterdam. What a better way to see the national flower in the heart of the Netherlands!

NOTE: Keukenhof is open from mid-March to mid-May. The best time to see the tulip is around mid-April depending on the weather.

MUST DO: Try a freshly made Dutch waffle (stroopwafel), it’s to die for!

TRANSPORTATION: Keukenhof is located in Lisse, just slightly outside of Amsterdam. Take a train from Central Station to Schiphol (Amsterdam airport) and then take a direct bus from Schiphol to Keukenhof.

Biggest shout out and thank you to my Dutch friend Danielle for taking me here and organising my tickets!

I hope you enjoy the visual diary of Keukenhof!

Till next time! -M
